I am so excited to have you visit our classroom web page!  Here you will find all the news you need to be in the know for our classroom news.

I have been teaching in an elementary classroom for 8 years, in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade.  

​

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) from Jacksonville State University (Go Gamecocks!) and am working towards my Masters in Gifted Education with Troy State University (Go Trojans!). 

​

I am certified in AMSTI Math for grades Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th.  I am AMSTI Science - Year 1 certified for 4th grade.  I love science and math and love integrating all subjects together.  

​

I am also a Baldwin County Digital Renaissance and eMINTS graduate.  Technology is our future and I believe we are training students for jobs that haven't even been invented yet.  Technology is a wonderful tool and we are blessed in Baldwin County to have the means to support this tool in the classroom. 

​

I love to travel and watch football (WAR EAGLE!  and GO PIRATES!).  I am a mom of 3 keeping up with my family - believe it or not, the madness keeps me sane!  I love to sing and try to incorporate music into our learning.  I have been married to Marc Semmes for over 20 years and he puts up with all of my craziness.  :)  He is an attorney here in Fairhope.  We have two cats named Lucy and Nervous Nellie, Pierce, the hamster, and our class pet who summers with us, Momma Muffin, the guinea pig, but I have always wanted a dog - maybe one day he will let me get one.  :)

 

I am a firm believer that all students can learn and that encouragement is a super power!   I believe a positive classroom equals positive learners!  I believe in a classroom community where everyone matters!
